General Info

Lowell Oktoberfest is an authentic German Oktoberfest. From traditional German foods prepared by our local restaurant partners, to German beer and good old fashion "festplatz" games, we have a fun program for you.

Join us as we start a few new traditions in Lowell, including "anzapfen" the opening ceremony and ceremonial tapping of the first Keg. And be part of the first ever "Human Foosball Tournament" Lowell has seen. Sign up your team today!

We have 2 tent pavilions and a beer garden, serving up some great foods and beers. 

Entrance - Eingang

Admission is free. No outside liquor, beer, soda or food to be brought onto the premises. Thank you for your understanding. (Admission closes 1 hour prior to event end time) 

Weather - Wetter

Oktoberfest will be held rain or shine. Our “fest-platz” offers 250+ seats. All food tents will be open regardless of weather. The beer-bar is adjunct to the Pavilion and provides cover as well. 


Cash is accepted at the gate, all vendors and food stations as well as the main bar and the beer trucks.  

Food Tents & Pavilions 

Our "festplatz" will offer a total of 2 food pavilions offering you authentic German food from Lowell's best local restaurants as well as a KuchenHaus (Cakes/Pastries) and Pretzel Bar.

The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden is set up under the beautiful trees on City Hall Plaza and creates an atmosphere that's very similar to an original Beer Garden in Germany.

The Beer Garden is open to everyone. Go grab your food from one of the Food Pavilions and enjoy it with a cool beer.

Lowell Oktoberfest offers a great variety of entertainment, from traditional German Music, to some great local bands, we have you covered. Oans, zwoa, drei - g'suffa!  


We will have some good old fashion German Carnival games for kids of all ages. new in 2016: Beer-stein holding contest, best dressed (traditionally German of course) contest, and more...

Getting to Oktoberfest

We appreciate you volunteering your time to this worthwhile event that benefits Made In Lowell. You are not only a huge part of putting together on authentic Oktoberfest in Lowell but you are actively helping to create deeper, more connected, and inspired community.

Volunteering with Oktoberfest is an excellent opportunity to:

  • Lend your time and support to build community in Lowell
  • Participate in an amazing event
  • Be part of a community of cool people
  • Gain firsthand experience in special event production

Event Support Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of activities including setup, checking in guests, passing out materials, giving directions, ticketing and other event support tasks.

Each volunteer shift will run approximately 4 hours and volunteers are encouraged to assist with multiple shifts-some choose to volunteer the entire weekend!
